It has an excellent location.
There was no pool, and no internet access, despite signs that there is an internet cafe on site. It also said that there was internet access in public areas, but we could not find any of these places.
View from the restaurant terrace.
This hotel is infested with cockroaches. Without exaggeration. When the man lifted the hatch to the bar about 30 cockroaches scuttled along the hinge. Worse, they weren't just in the bathroom, which you might expect. I left my suitcase on the bed for a couple of hours. When I returned, there were another 10 or so underneath it. I didn't complain but another time I would book a more expensive hotel and go for the higher quality. It really was bad. Even in the lift I saw one or two.
If you like to be in a real middle-east city... Close to the seaside, souk and with a good view it is a good destination... But
The breakfast is a desaster -- more ants on the table than foodstuff. The rooms are tiny and on the dirty and chabby side. The price is ok if you expect nothing but the view.
Just close to Mutrath souk; Very helpful at the reception
Rooms need to be cleaned: they are full of cockroaches (even in the fridge!)
only where it's located
They don't clean up your room, leave without toilet paper, there's insects all over the room, the TV doesn't work, neither the internet. The breakfast is horrible.
die Lage, die reception ist OK
there is no room service, the room had a tiny window, nearly no light, the bathroom was dirty... seems long time never cleaned deeply, the bed had several blankets with was slotted or with wholes, tv did miss switches and not works, room decoration is awful, the room was the tiniest i've ever seen, so its for a short night ok, but not recommended for a pleasureful stay in Muscat
location (right on the corniche), cable TV, edible breakfast
rooms need major refurbisment, no wifi inside the room.
I moved from the Quorm Beach hotel to here to be closer to the action. This a great location to see the souq, mosques and action of locals at night. You can walk the corniche in a very safe well lit area ( a promenade around the port) a very clean city with very friendly people. Being there at Eid was very busy with many travellers from all over. At the Marina Hotel you are very close to the Sultan's Palace a lot of parks. The Marina Hotel has a great restaurant on the roof called the Penthouse. I ate most of my meals there as I enjoyed the view either sitting inside in the cool ac or outside in the warm breezes. One of the few places that is allowed to sell wine/beer/liquor. I did like the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. They were shy, very polite, eagar to please and accommodating. They will not enter your room unless you give them permission to clean it while you are gone. Your room can be booked with or without breakfast.
My room was adequate but my balcony was home to a giant ac and pigeon droppings, so impossible to sit outside. You must ask for a room with a good balcony to sit out and a room on the 3rd or 4th floor, as there are 2 night clubs in the building one on the mezz and one below main level. They stay open till 2 or 3 and are very noisy with Pakistan music/dancers in one and Arabian music/dacers in the other. I did not look in these rooms as it seemed to be only men going in and out...but I was assured I could go in. ( no thanks) In my room on the 4th floor I was not bothered by any music or outside sounds. Also having the nightclubs in the building did not present any problem for the guests. I did not like the fact I had to come to the lobby to use the internet. I think they would bring more business to the restaruant and the customers would be more comfortable to check their emails etc from the table while having a drink and sandwich etc. The decor of the hotel could be updated with fresh flowers instead of fake ones and lighter fabric curtains that would collect less dust. The AC worked well but the TV had few English stations and a lot of no signal stations. It was because they were very busy one dish was broken and it could not be fixed until EID was over. I was assured the problem would be fixed and it is not a usual problem.
Good mid range hotel in the centre of Muttrah. Very helpful and accommodating staff.
It was very hot due to broken A/C at the lobby, also there was no internet/WI-FI connection in rooms.
The roof top restaurant is marvelous, the view is outstanding, the best in Muscat
The stale smell of smoke in the room.
good location frendly and helpful staff restaurant on the top floor with nice view
noisy - music club, lift, even noisy A/C our room was small, dark (only one small window leading nowhere), smelly wi-fi is only at the reception and worked only sometimes
Great location overlooking the harbour and very close to the Bazaar and to Muscat old town.
Location and the staff were friendly.
No hot water in the room and an erratic air conditioning unit.
The rooftop bar
The cockroaches The smell and noise when they pump sewerage at 4am every morning
